ABOUT WESCANA INN

The Wescana Inn is located in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada, and is known by many as the "Gateway to the North".  Our locally-owned hotel is approximately 600 kilometers north of Winnipeg, Manitoba’s capital, and near the Saskatchewan border.

We are surrounded by the Carrot Valley with its rich farmland, the rocky Canadian Shield, boreal forests and many beautiful lakes including Clearwater Lake, one of the world’s three “true blue” lakes. It is so clear that the bottom is clearly visible to depths in excess of thirty feet and is perfect for Lake Trout fishing. Our location is an ideal spot for anglers, hunters, nature lovers and fans of outdoor activities.

Historically, The Pas was an important wintering site of the Henry Kelsey expedition as well as a historical trading location for local indigenous peoples.

Now families, friends and visitors of The Pas enjoy the OCN Blizzard Junior Hockey team, the Huskies minor hockey events, and the MBCI Spartans and Oscar Lathlin Wolverines.

The Pas is also a winter playground for snowmobilers, with the Kelsey Trail Sno-Riders just minutes from the door of the Wescana Inn.  The Pas has variety of attractions for the whole family to enjoy, in all four seasons,  such as the Trapper’s Festival, the Bill Bannock Ice Fishing Festival, Opaskwayak Indian Days and the Aseneskak Casino Tours.
